I am 23 years old. I am from Letart, WV working part time at the 911 center in Mason County. I am also in the WV Army National Guard as a UH-60 blackhawk mechanic. I have been with the guard for almost 2 years now. Attempting at this time to get started into flight school. I grew up in you in your average home. I have 2 sisters. One is 19 and the other is 12. My mother is a secretary at the high school I went to years ago. Can't really get into much trouble at school when you have a parent working their lol. My father has been the greatest inspiration in my life. He died at the age of 52 from brain cancer. It was very quick when It happened but i still know he looks down upon me everyday wanting me to live my life.
One of the most interesting facts about me is that I could fly a plane before I could drive my car lol. In 2002 for my 16th birthday, I flew an airplane by myself for the first time. I have been raised around aviation by my great uncle. He was bound determined to get me flying in the air. I was his only student in history to fly solo at the age of 16.
The other part in my life is firefighting. I have been a member of the New Haven Vol. Fire Dept. for 7 years now. It has made a big impact on my life mentally and physically, but it has always kept my heart strong as ever. It is also an adrenaline rush as well. From the moment the tones drop trying to figure of if its a fire or a rescue, to helping EMS pull a patient out of an automobile. Also seeing the helicopter come in to take a patient to the hospital. Its not a good sign to see a helicopter come in for for the patients aspect, but wondering the rush from the crew on the helicopter not knowing what they are getting into.
That being said, this is where my life is taking me now. I joined the guard to hopefully better my chances of getting into flight school or taking the civilian route. Free is good, but there isn't that guarantee I will be able to go. There is the other route going civilian. It cost a good chunk of money, but I have always said you have to pay the price to get at your goals at the end.
I hope I get the chance to meet Lady Antebellum. Their words and expressions on their cd give great inspiration to not just me, but everyone around the country. It was also great listening to Home is Where The Heart Is while taking our vehicles through the mud lol. Be safe, and keep rocking.

Well, I am a person for the outdoors. I love playing the drums. I started out in high school and made it to the WVU Drumline in 2004. I will just say it was pretty cool. I love going hiking in the summertime. The mountains are gorgeous in the summer and especially when the leaves fall. I love to go snowboarding as well. Trying to find the time is the hard part. I don't know much else to say.
